Rajasthan in India is famous for its handicraft and art work. It has rich tradition and culture in its vast glorious history .Tourism is encouraged by rich tradition of gem jewellery (Meenakari), gota work, embrodiery work (Kashi dori), wood carving, silver brass art work, tie and dye and other various handicraft. Rajasthans most important handicraft comaprised of cutting, polishing and embeding of precious colourful gems, making of atristic gold and silver jewellery, brass engraving, stone and wood engraving, blue pottery, itmes made up of elephantery teeth and lack, sandel wood articles sanganari print, embroidery and gota work is also prevalent. In Rajasthan gota work is specially famous. The people in Rajasthan prefered to wear cloth of gota work at the time of festivales and other occassion such as marriges . Gold and silver threads are also used in it. Now a days different types of colours are used in gota work.
